Carving On The Edge Festival
Carving on the Edge Festival is a celebration of the West Coast carver, showcasing traditional and contemporary west coast wood carving with a full calendar of exhibits, storytelling, family programs, demonstrations and a variety of hands-on workshops.
2016 events included workshops like Printmaking for Families, Introduction to Relief Carving and "The Land is Our Teacher" with Gisele and Levi Martin of the Tla-o-qui-aht Nation. Additionally, Master Carver Joe Martin introduced the traditional teachings & uses of the Nuu-chah-nulth bentwood box (Huupukwanum) in a full-day carving workshop.
