You'll find a number of attractions, inside and out, around Tofino. Our top picks, in no particular order, include:

  1. Tuff City Bike Skills Park:
Located at the top of Arnet Road, next to the Tofino Community Hall, Tofino's newest recreational attraction for all ages is a top-of-the-line bike skills park open to the public year-round.  Please remember to wear a helmet!

  2. Tofino Botanical Gardens:
Expect the unexpected as you stroll toward the Tofino Mudflats, see the playful art installations (including a vintage Volkswagen!) and visit the displays of the Raincoast Interpretive Centre.

  3. The Eagle Aerie Gallery:
Enter this Tofino landmark, fashioned as a Northwest Coast longhouse, and feel a sense of calm.  The colourful art of Canadian artist Roy Henry Vickers speaks for itself.  You may even meet the artist on one of his frequent returns to Tofino for inspirational, soul-stirring storytelling.

  4. The Village Green & Tuff City Skate Park:
This is the unofficial town centre, where skateboarders of all ages perfect their skills, children play freely, and picnics are enjoyed with views of the coastal mountains and the sound of seaplanes going by.

  5. The 3rd Street Lookout:
This small green space on Main Street at the intersection of Third Street is a great place to relax while witnessing action on Tofino's working harbour, under the watch of the anchor from the Lord Western.

  6. Gibson Gardens:
Ken Gibson has spent over 30 years collecting and planting over 1,000 varieties of rhododendrons on his residential property, located up Fourth Street at Gibson Street.  Look up, way up, at this impressive flowered hill, which blooms in early spring and peaks in early summer.

  7. The Ucluelet Aquarium:
Take a drive down the Pacific Rim Highway to neighbouring Ucluelet to this fun new facility.  Get acquainted ,hands-on, with local marine life, released back into their home waters of Barkley Sound when the Aquarium closes its doors for the season each October.

  8. Hot Springs Cove:
These natural unaltered hot springs are a memorable daytrip from Tofino.  Get there by seaplane (in 20 minutes) or by boat (in a little over an hour), walk the 1.5 kilometre (.93 mile) boardwalk, and soak in the seven successive (hot to cooler) geothermal hot spring pools.  Oh, and there's a cascading waterfall and stunning views of the Pacific Ocean.

  9. Tofino Brewing Company:
Oh yes, Tofino has its own brewery, crafting originals like the Tuff Session Ale and the seasonal Dawn Patrol Coffee Porter.  Get your own reusable glass Growler (which can be filled with a whopping 1.89 L or 64 oz. of your favourite beer) and sustainability never tasted so good.  Visit our friendly brewers on Industrial Way and taste what everyone's talking about.
