Spring in Tofino BC
Like a breath of fresh, salty air.
Spring – that knowing feeling of longer days, shifting breezes and promising blooms as we breath in the fresh, salty Tofino air.
T-shirt weather is as much of early spring as wearing gumboots, and stormy winter seas get calmer just in time for the arrival of over 20,000 Gray Whales migrating their way past our shores to summer feeding grounds in Alaska.
To celebrate, the annual Pacific Rim Whale Festival kicks-off in March complete with parades, beach tug-of-wars and a line-up of events. At the same time, whale watching season kicks into high gear, winding up mid to late October when the whales head south back to the Baja Peninsula for mating season.
