Bring your camera and sense of adventure.
Thanks to Mother Nature and one of the most spectacular coastal settings in the world, Tofino BC is a year round destination for adventurers and explorers.
Majestically perched on the edge of Vancouver Island’s Pacific Rim National Park – near the infamous Clayoquot Sound – Tofino offers a bounty of year-round adventures, including whale watching, surfing, kayaking, fishing, hiking, and winter storm watching.
Besides the natural attraction to Tofino’s majestic old-growth rainforests, and long sandy beaches, it’s also a hotbed of festivals and events for generations of returning visitors. From the annual Pacific Rim Whale Festival and Saturday Public Market, to world-class food & wine festivals, Tofino’s events line-up is non-stop fun.
As Canada’s Surf Capital, surfing is nothing short of a religion here as locals and visitors of all ages and abilities catch year-round waves on miles of surf-able beaches.
Tofino is also home to an exciting food scene with a wide range of restaurants and eateries focused on locally caught, grown, and foraged ingredients. Come taste for yourself why Tofino is getting so much buzz in foodie circles.
The natural beauty of Clayoquot Sound also inspires many renowned and emerging artists and creators to live here and hone their craft.
Getting here is part of the adventure, and we always recommend staying at least two nights. But you can absolutely get a little taste of Tofino if you make a daytrip from Parksville, Port Alberni, Nanaimo, or even Victoria if you're a fan of long, leisurely, beautiful drives. Daily round trip flights are also available to and from Vancouver year-round.
Situated within the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Tofino is environment-centric, rich in heritage, and proud of our unique community and culture. We look forward to welcoming you to our very special coast of of Vancouver Island.
