Tofino Surf School

Welcome to Tofino Surf School,
located on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The long flat sand beaches and consistent swell, make Tofino the perfect place to catch your first wave! Our two hour beginner lesson consists of a half hour on the beach, learning ocean safety and fundamentals of surfing, such as balance, popping up, placement on the board, and how to fall. Once you have the basics down, we head into the ocean for an hour and a half to practice your skills. We also offer intermediate lessons focusing on reading tides, swell forecasting, interpreting wavepatterns, duck dives, turtle rolls, and surf etiquette. Our instructors hold CPR, Bronze Cross, and Bronze Medallions. They also hold a minimum of 10 years surfing experience.
