Tofino has its own vibe, and definite coastal-town-charm; a combination of surf culture, artist enclave, and working village.

Look down toward the water from the storefronts, and you will find wharves and piers providing moorage to commercial fishing vessels, charter boats and seaplanes. The locals, or 'Tofitians', personify the independent spirit that has served them well.
