Why not add a few more temptations to your Tofino to-do list, like sitting on a giant piece of driftwood, picking out a crab from a local catch and cooking it for dinner, or falling asleep to the roar of the ocean waves? How about writing your name on the sand, taking a picture (or painting one) of the perfect wave, dancing in the rain, hugging an enormous tree, doing nothing at all (after all, this is the home of Tofino Time), or try...
Cycling
Get on a popular beach cruiser, available at some accommodations or for rent in Tofino. Go for a ride along the Tofino multi-use path to and from town, or even along the hard-packed sand of our beaches. Cyclists up for a challenge like to pedal the 42km/26 miles between Tofino and neighbouring Ucluelet, right through the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve.

Beachcombing
What exactly is beachcombing? Well, we see it as a good excuse to get out and enjoy our Tofino beaches, anytime of year. As simple as a stroll along the sand, beachcombing can also involve an in-depth discovery of the distinctive tidal zones that make up a beach, the forces that act upon it, and the life that exists there. This is a great activity for children too, so take some time to peer into tide pools, look closely at a piece of seaweed or ponder a mollusk shell. We do ask that you disturb the beach as little as possible and that rather than collecting them, you capture the treasures you discover with your camera or sketchbook.
