The legendary dive pioneer and marine explorer Jacques Cousteau once referred to the waters around Vancouver Island as “The Emerald Sea” and rated it as the world’s best cold water scuba diving. You’ll discover a natural aquarium here, teeming with colour and variety from the incredible diversity of life.

The “Graveyard of the Pacific” holds many shipwrecks, such as the 1899 wreck of the SS Hera , now a National Heritage Site, right in the entrance to Tofino Harbour.
